A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

AC

It is my great pleasure to extend to you a warm welcome to Clontarf Golf and Bowling Club, celebrating in June 2023 the 100th Anniversary of its move to its current location, Donnycarney House and the surrounding lands.

I hope you will enjoy our 18 hole golf course designed by Harry Colt, with our excellent greens and challenging fairways, our finely laid natural lawn bowling green, all tucked away in an urban setting and so close to the city centre.

We have a long tradition of achievement in golf and bowling, both at individual and team levels, and we look forward to the future of our Club with ambition in competing at all levels, in the spirit of ‘Sport for All’. We are also very conscious of making our contribution to the local communities through our involvement with local charities such as St. Michael’ s House, the Howth and Clontarf Lions’ Clubs and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

We place a particular emphasis on the development of our Junior Members who, with the great support of our team of Club professionals, have a strong history of high achievement.

After a game of golf or bowls, our Clubhouse with Restaurant, Lounge and Bar facilities offer a convivial place to relax and have fun with your family and friends.

Other recreational activities at the Club which can be enjoyed by Members and friends include bridge, poker, snooker and indoor bowling which we consider as an important part of the social life of our local communities.

I wish our Golf Captains for 2023, Liam and Madge, our Bowling Club Captain Yvonne, both our Junior Golf Captains Conor and Giselle and all our committee members and volunteers a successful and enjoyable year ahead.

To all our Members and visitors, have a healthy and happy sporting year ahead.

Andrew Cullen

President
