I am very privileged to be President of Clontarf Golf Club and I am delighted to extend to you a warm welcome to Clontarf Golf and Bowling Club.

I hope you will enjoy our 18 hole golf course designed by Harry Colt, with our excellent greens and challenging tight fairways, our finely laid natural lawn bowling green, all tucked away in an urban setting and so close to the city centre.

Clontarf Golf Club was founded in 1912 with the Bowling Club added in 1925 and over the years it has played a big part in the local community with our involvement in charities such as St. Michael’s House, the Howth and Clontarf Lions’ Clubs and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and close links to our neighbouring sports clubs.

We have a long tradition of success in golf and bowling, at individual and team levels, and we look forward in the future to achieving more success in both. The development of our Junior Members, with the great support of our teams, has led to a strong history of high achievement.

The Women in Golf Charter was launched in 2018 by Golf Ireland with the aim of increasing the number of women and girls playing and working in golf. In 2023, Clontarf Golf Club signed up to the charter and has achieved Bronze, Silver and Gold certification which demonstrates that our Club is united and focused on promoting gender balance in golf.

After a game of golf or bowls, our Clubhouse with Restaurant, Lounge and Bar facilities offer a convivial place to relax and have fun with your family and friends.

The Club is more than just a Golf and Bowling Club with members and friends enjoying activities such as bridge, poker, snooker, book club and a vibrant social life throughout the year.

I wish our Golf Captains for 2024, Gerry and Órla, our Bowling Club Captain Anne and all our committee members and volunteers a successful and enjoyable year ahead.

To all our Members and visitors, have a healthy and happy sporting 2024.

Anna Marie Dufficy
