Founded in 1925, Clontarf Bowling Club is located at The Clontarf Golf and Bowling Club, Donnycarney House, Malahide Road, Dublin 3. Clontarf Bowling Club is a founding member of the Bowling League of Ireland (BLI) and a member of the Ladies’ Bowling League of Ireland (LBLI). The Club fields three competitive league teams, a ladies’ team and two men’s teams

 

 

Bye-Laws of Clontarf Bowling Club 2021

The following Bowling Club Bye-Laws shall be deemed to have been amended on the 30th November
2020 and 10th February 2021 subject to, and in accordance with Rule 9.3.14 of the Rules and
Regulations of the Bowling Club.

1. All bowls used on the green must conform to WORLD BOWLS specifications.
2. No member of the Bowling Club shall use bowls belonging to another Member without the
permission of that Member.
3. Players, Umpires and Markers shall wear smooth-soled, heel-less footwear while playing on
the green or acting as Umpires or Markers
4. Players must not drop bowls onto the green.
5. No smoking permitted on the Green or on the environment of the green, in the club house,
on the veranda or the viewing stand. All smokers must use the Designated Smokers Area.
6. Non -Players shall not be allowed on the green or on the bank surroundings the green, nor
shall they distract or otherwise interfere with players on the green.
7. Members must not dispose of litter of any type, empty glasses or empty bottles anywhere in
the environments of the Bowling Green. These items must be placed in the receptacles
provided and all glasses returned to the bar.
8. Under Rule 19.1 the Bowling Committee shall establish the conditions under which Bowling
Competitions are to be played. Any Local Rules of Competitions, or amendments thereto,
made by the Bowling Committee shall have effect until amended or revoked by such
Committee or by a General Meeting of the Bowling Club.


Clontarf Bowling club supporting Neil Booth, Irelands head coach in his 52 Club Charity match Challenge.

The day was a great success. Great weather, Great Bowling and most of all Great company. All members did the club proud by supporting this great cause with their presence and contributions.

Neil was delighted with the support and welcome he received from all.

Welcome funds were raised for Pieta house in the South of Ireland and Mindwise in the North

Team practice

Team practice for Mens and Ladies team are now well underway, ()

Your support is critical to the success of out teams and I would encourage everyone who wishes to play on the teams "next year" to turn up EVERY week for coaching and training. 

OUR teams meet every week and develope strong rinks that work well as one unit in competition.

All members are welcome to try out for team selection.

We have secured ALSAA as our winter training grounds and hope to be practicing there every Monday over the winter . Details to follow.....


Monday evening Circuits and game (Starting again Early May)

A big thank you to all who turned up for Monday circuits, I was very pleased with the general format, but it took the season to work out the best format going forward. I hope you all got something worthwhile from it
