Clontarf Friday Friends’ 3rd Season closes on a joyous note.

Season Finale: Clontarf Friday Friends’ 3rd Season closes on a joyous note.

With our now annual  Christmas Disco and Presentation of Certificates on  Friday, 22nd November in the West Wing of the Clubhouse the curtain came  down on our third season. This is now becoming the traditional way for the Club to herald in the festive season. The sounds of music, dancing and laughter created an atmosphere of unbridled joy as the Friday Friends enjoyed their end of season party.  Take a look at the photos in the Gallery section of this website and you’ll see the fun, excitement and happiness shared by everyone.  Disco music, bright lights and enthusiastic dancers transformed the Clubhouse into a nightclub atmosphere full of happy revellers. Friday Friends volunteers and participants joined together to celebrate friendship and fun.  A great way to finish another successful season. Long may it continue.

New Volunteers Sought! We Never Stop!

We are recruiting new volunteers from our golfing and bowling community for Season 4.

This will enable us to improve the experience, expand the number of golfers and bowlers we can accommodate from St Michael’s House, Fingal Prosper Services and our local community and pursue the goal of some of our participants of becoming Special Olympians.

So, what is Friday Friends? It is a group activity that takes place in the club every Friday morning from April to September. The participants are service users of St. Michael’s House, Fingal Proper Services and relatives and friends of Club members. Volunteers are members of our golf and bowling club. The participants divide into small groups and after an exercise warm-up, accompanied by a couple of volunteers and staff from the service providers, go to their first station.  For the bowlers, it is the bowling green and for the golfers it might be, the putting green in front of the pro-shop, the chipping green in front of the clubhouse or the garden.

No special skills are required, but do bring your sense of humour. Talk to Ray or Alan or one of our Volunteers to find out more – no obligation!

Greetings for the Season: We wish all the Friday Friends Family a happy festive season and look forward to welcoming new faces to our Programme in 2025.
