Junior Girls’ Fingal League Final

Clontarf Golf Club hosted the final day of the Junior Girls’ Fingal League with more than 80 girls taking part.  Anyone who was lucky enough to savour the fabulous atmosphere and the wonderful golf played on the day will feel very assured that junior girls’ golf is thriving in the Fingal region.

Clontarf came 3rd overall.  Congratulations to all our wonderful players! They not only represented the Club very well through their golf but also in the way they related to the other players and showed them around the golf course.

Three competitions took place: an 18 hole, a 9 hole and a 5 hole scramble.  Three of the Clontarf girls played the 18 hole and four played the scramble.

Prizegiving and lunch followed afterwards in the West Wing.

The Club is very grateful to our Junior Convenor, Tina Price and her team, Una O’Keefe and Zoe Murphy, who spend many hours each week organising and attending practices, going to home and away matches, liaising with parents and many more tasks.  Everything was superbly organised by Tina and her team for this final day of the league.  Huge thanks also to the ladies who volunteered to help out on the day.

It is no surprise that the Girls’ Junior section has grown and developed so much over the last few years.  There is a bright future ahead for the Club.
