Chairman (Ian Maguire) update to Members.

Saturday, 2nd May, 2020

The publication by the Government on 1st May of the Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business is very welcome news, and especially that golf courses and bowling greens can reopen on 18th May though with very limiting restrictions.

To that end the Management Committee are in the process of finalising a very comprehensive protocol for the reopening of the golf course and bowling green, a draft of which has been prepared by our General Manager, Pat, and which will ensure that our Club will adhere to all the restrictions to be set out by the Government and the GUI/ILGU.

In addition to the Government’s Roadmap, the GUI/ILGU stated in their release on 1st May that they intend to finalise the protocol for golf clubs in the coming week, in consultation with the Government, and issue clear advice to its member clubs well in advance of the reopening of golf courses on 18th May.

The Management Committee will then finalise our Club’s protocol on the safe resumption of play on the golf course and the bowling green, and email a copy of the document to all our Members, and which will also be posted on the Club’s website.

In relation to payment of the 2nd moiety of the Annual Subscription, due on the 1st May, Invoices were posted to all members on 30th April.

On the back of the invoice it states that payments can be made by contacting Audrey at Reception on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays between 9.30am and 1.00pm.

In addition our General Manager will be available to accept Subscriptions on Thursdays and Fridays up to 7.30pm.

So, that’s the good news about the reopening of the golf course and bowling green on 18th May, and in the meantime please stay safe.

Ian Maguire,
Chairman, Management Committee
