A message from our President

It is a pleasure for me to extend my good wishes to all the members and visitors who have the joy to play or participate in this wonderful club. We are very privileged to have such a beautiful golf course, a magnificent lawn bowling green, a superb clubhouse with a snooker room, bar and excellent restaurant and catering facilities.

To this aim we have to thank the Rev J. L. Morrow with his committee of founding members who had the foresight to establish this club in 1912. Since then the club has developed through the dedicated work of many committees into the extraordinary facility it is today.

Our feature hole is the par four 12th where the drive has to be placed accurately onto a narrow plateau before hitting across two ponds to an elevated green. It's also called the quarry hole as it’s where most of the stone which paved Dublin's streets was quarried from in the 18th and 19th centuries.

We have the unique distinction of being one of the closest Golf and Bowling Clubs to a capital city in Europe being only 4.4 kilometers from O'Connell Street. We are also noted for the warm welcome our members and staff afford to all visitors and guests. I thank all those members both past and present who give their time and efforts voluntarily on committee or otherwise so we may have a more enjoyable and fulfilling life.

Finally I wish our Golf Captains Brian and Anne,  Bowling Captain Peter and Junior Captains Dean and Olivia a very successful and enjoyable year ahead. To our members and visitors I wish you all a very healthy, happy and sporting 2020.

Tommy Cooke
